*A little about me.  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +

First off if you haven’t realized it yet my name is Jesse Gordon. I’m 30 years old and currently a residence in Ft Wayne, IN. I grew up not far from here in a small town called Columbia City. A background about me: I grew up on a farm so I’m a country boy at heart but still love the big cities. I love the outdoors from anything to walking, running, cycling, bonfires, climbing trees, swimming, ext. I use to ride bmx and skateboard when I was growing up as my life and business both reflect. Once I got older I fell in love with motorcycles and the whole industry behind it. Always enjoyed art from a very young age up to now. I love flying. My family owns an air strip and also a Cessna. Nothing like flying and being able to go up whenever you want.

*How I got started in graphic design. +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +

I got started in graphic design probably around that age of 10-12 years old when I discovered the Paint Program on Microsoft computers. I started using it more and more until I was designing funny things for people like Christmas cards, pictures for assignments in class, and just drawing still life making them look as real as possible easily spending hours on each image.

After a few years of using Paint my Dad noticed it was something I was passionate about and really loved and excelled in it. So in 1997 I think it was Adobe came out with their very first edition of Photoshop and he had bought it for us to use as he has always been into photography and editing as well. Needless to say I fell in love with the graphic design world and started learning everything there was to know about Adobe Photoshop as most know its a very in-depth program. So I have been using Adobe Photoshop now ever since it was put out on the shelves.

I have never had any schooling in graphic design tho I did take every graphic design class there was in high school and actually by my sophomore year in high school, was teaching my class, and my grading was based on how well I was teaching and the students were learning. On top of that I would every now and again get a bigger project that maybe the school or surrounding business’s needed done like flyers, posters, logo work, and things like that.

So that brings us to today pretty much. I decided after trying a few jobs after high school that I wasn’t cut out for the “working for the man” type jobs and began my long and hard journey to where I am today working for myself. I started in 2008 and have been hard at it ever since and don’t regret any of it.

*How I got started in photography. +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +  +

This is the best story in my opinion. I was traveling a lot for my job and wanted a camera to start taking pictures of everything I was seeing and people I would meet. A friend needed some quick cash at one point and new I was looking for a camera and offered me a camera his parents had bought him for Christmas that he never used and would sell it to me for $50. It was brand new, still in the box. Little did I know (neither did he obviously haha) that I was buying a $600 camera for $50. Once I got it and did some search I discovered what I had just bought and what this camera was capable of. So same story and learning Photoshop, I started learning everything there was about my camera and the photography industry.

That brings me to now owning 2 newer cameras, lighting equipment, accessories, bags, and everything else I can afford to buy at the time as I continue my journey of being a professional photographer now for what I think has been about 4-5 years. I still love it and the learning never ends as technology continues to grow and the competition never stops.
